Kuttram 23 – A meticulous medical crime investigation by an ingratiating cop which leaves a strong moral question on the emotional imbalance of after marriage life, thus the society as a whole.

When Vetri (Arun Vijay) takes a mission of finding a missing wife of a leading TV channel MD. This hooks him to a series of crimes and drives to get to know a callous crime happening in the medical field. Truth unveils many ladies has been a victim of this without their notice even. What does Vetri do to solve the mystery and stop the crime is all Kuttram 23 offers to us.

Arun Vijay has put in loads of effort to chisel himself for the role Vetri, an charming IPS officer. He has excelled in carrying out the investigation scenes in a calm and composed manner, and has delivered a neat performance in emotional sequences. His performance outstands during the interval block and hits the audience at the right quotient. With characters like Victor, Vetri he is for sure on the right track.

Mahima, refreshing new face and promising talent of acting. She does her portions with ease and indeed a role that serves some purpose to the plot. Abhinaya, excels every frame and is a strong asset to Kuttram 23, as she is the central point around whom the story revolves.

Vishal Chandrasekhar’s smartness in music does the right job for setting up the pace and feel of the film. The re-recording has been done with some intelligence, as silence is used at right moments to elevate the sense of suspense and thrill. “Thodu Vaanam”, “Pori Vaithu” are hummable numbers and stands in memory. Kudos to his talent.

Arivazhagan, first to be appreciated for exposing the dark truth of a particular science growth and the ill effects associated to it. His detailed writing in the screenplay department is the key factor for making Kuttram 23 being tight and impactful. Special appreciation for revealing the secret of the title at the right moment in the tale. His films always carry a high quality of film making and this one stands no different. Dialogues are very sharp, specially the scene which tells the difference between “Medical Science” and “Medical Crime” is excellent. Looking forward for more interesting films from this promising director.

The only negative is that the film takes a slow speed after the interval plot, and which cause a little distraction from a gripping first half build-up to the suspense. Logical loop holes do exists in few portions and every character being so rigid is a bit artificial. A small attention in the environment setup of the climax fight could have been done. Nevertheless, these are minor factors of flaws we could see.

In Summary, Join Vetri in this investigation to see a dark truth of medical science.
