Transformers: The Last Knight - Not Even Optimus Prime was able to save it.

Once again the earth is under attack by the bad guys of cybetron, with Optimus taking sides of his maker. The brave souls of earth under the command of Mark Wahlberg and Bumblee battles against bags leading to final battle.

Mark Wahlberg, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins have given a good performance and has done justice to their respective character. Peter Cullen’s voice for the Optimus Primes character is the soul of the film and just like any other part it stands up to the expectations.

Battle between Optimus and Bumble Bee is a feast. The usual goosebumps speech of Prime is present and Optimus fans have their moments. The pre-climax and climax stunt sequences are the only good moments of the movie and it takes a long wait to get to there. The riddle on the secret history of transformers is pretty simple and when we get to know, we get a sense of “Is that it?”.

In this expensive world created by Michael Bay, the previous parts had a stronger foundation of the story and the characters but the Last Knight lets down them by a weaker plot on which the money has been dwelled upon. The trailer had interesting cuts of Optimus turning evil and Bumblee battling against, but the reasoning behind it is absurd and fails to make an impact.

In a film like Transformers, the VFX has been looked out for we see the most vital moments as too fast frames, and the background behind many sub-plots are developed very little. The franchise is being stretched too long and it’s time to have an end for it. Though Michael Bay said this is the last chapter, the final scene delivers an opener for the next. Oh no!

In a nutshell, Transformers Last Knight – Better the last of the franchise.

Rating : 2 / 5
