Shivalinga, an investigative story which reveals the truth behind the death of an innocent in a moving train with the help of his spirit and pet dove.

A do-good innocent cook Raheem(Shakthi) is killed on a moving train. This case is now handled by a talented officer Shivalinga(Lawrence) and in the process his lady love Sathya (Rikita Singh) is possessed by the spirit of the dead man to seek the truth behind who killed him. Shivalinga now has the responsibility to find the murderer to seek justice and save his wife from the spirit possession. Did he succeed is all Shivalinga offers to us.

Lawrence, his acting gets a good score. His dance style and mass action sequences are commendable; it has become more serotypes after a series of horror flicks from him. Better he stamps a unique style for him soon enough than to reference Super star for every scene.

Rithika Singh, complete credits to her for the second half performance. Her mettle takes over the film from the interval sequence and that’s the reason she chose this after Iruthisuttru. She does adorn some cute glamour for this one. A small caution on choosing wise scripts is needed.

Vadivelu, the only breather of Shivalinga. His one liners and expressions are a complete laugh riot and works to the plot. Fans watch out for him, this time no big disappointments from him.

P.Vasu, a renowned director of K-town, brings his Kannada hit film to Tamil audience. Firs appreciation for making dove as the primal character of a horror flick which was a new thought. Ritika Singh choice was another good move. Yet another good story from him.

Said that, the point where the film fails is the adaption to the Tamil audience and the Shivalinga character is written with too much build up and it appears to be an over dosage for Lawrence. The mystery revealing scene is handled very well but the math behind it could have been scripted well. The dove is been underutilised for the reasoning told for. The film is too draggy and the VFX slows down the pace, at times turns annoying too. If these mistakes have been noted and corrected the film could have been a must watch.

Overall, Shivalinga over cooked commercial horror flick which lags hooks.
