Kadugu – Emotional outburst of a common man against the ignored minor mistakes of the society.
Kadugu explores the life of four common personalities who lead lives in different status. An evil force causes an imbalance to a small girl’s life and when a common man reacts to an injustice, it shakes the conscience of another which leads to justice is all Kadugu offers to us.
Vj Milton, the man to be talked about first. What a comeback from Golisoda. He is subjected to make hero out of common man and deliver a strong message with a realistic screenplay. He has handled the same magic in Kadugu as well. His boldness for choosing Raja Kumaran as the lead and the writing of every character with multiple shades is appreciable. Special credits to his dialogues that questions the ignorance we give for being silent to mistakes that happen right in front of our eyes. Climax portion is for sure to shake our consciences.
Rajakumaran, a notable director and actor of the 90’s bounces back with a role of strong value and performance scope. He has done 100% justice to the character of Pulipaandi and for sure many more good characters to lineup for him in future. The climax fight performance is top notch.
Bharath has done one of his best performance and appreciation to him for accepting this role. With no doubts his character in Kadugu will be remembered for many more years. Raadhika Prassidha, carrys her role with balance and is an pivotal role to the plot. With these lead characters, A.Venkatesh, Bharath Seeni and Subhiksha all shines in the screen space they had shared.
The film standout from other usual flicks by making us understand a mistake even small has to be noticed, as the after effects of the mistake is unpredictable. Kadugu has handled the questionable emotions in one of the best ways yet not being preachy too. Songs are well written by Karky which are at right moments in the plot. Though BGM could have been more soul stirring to such an intense plot. Too much social elements handled in a single plot makes us to lose focus from the primary plot.
Rating : 3 / 5
In a line, Kadugu – Strong on content, could have been spicier.
